Starting in early 2024, until around Chuseok 2024,


The project "Chuncheon Shindong Elementary School Relocation Construction" that was carried out from planning to construction 


The elementary school was founded in 1939 and opened on September 1, 24 as a school that was relocated to a new building.


It consists of about 500 students, 41 classes, and about 40 faculty members.

The design work was carried out starting in 2021 through a design competition, the construction company was selected in September 2022, and construction is scheduled to be completed in September 2024.

In response to the client's request for an interior space design proposal, we attempted to come up with a new proposal for the interior space based on the characteristics of the space that the building possesses.


[Direction of design proposal]

I took the phrase “a space that becomes a learning material” and thought hard about how to solve it from various perspectives.


Based on the characteristics of existing architectural spaces, we attempted to understand the purpose of use and the situation of users of the separated spaces and to create interior spaces using spatial characteristics, material properties, various objects, and rawness.

It seems that it is not easy to continue the design while accepting the purpose and various functions of the space desired by the school, considering the space from the students' perspective, continuously trying various productions and thinking about the space from the designer's perspective, and considering construction costs and construction schedules from the business owner's perspective.
